Mahanaryaman to become new MPCA president

According to Dainik Bhaskar, sources have confirmed that Mahanaryaman is set to be appointed as the new president of the MPCA at the upcoming Annual General Meeting of the state cricketing body in Indore. Mahanaryaman is the only candidate in the fray for the MPCA president post and is likely to be elected unopposed.

Mahanaryaman will replace Abilash Khandekar as the new president of the MPCA. Senior journalist and author Khandekar had taken over as the MPCA president in 2019, with the backing of Jyotiraditya Scindia. The 28-year-old is set to become the third generation of the Scindia family to take charge of the state cricket board.

Mahanaryaman has been serving as the vice-president of the Gwalior Division Cricket Association since 2022 and has been praised for his work in improving the cricketing landscape in the state. He played an instrumental role in launching the Madhya Pradesh League, which is the state’s premier and only franchise league, organised by the GDCA under the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association.

The 2025 edition of the Madhya Pradesh League was a great success under the supervision of Mahanaryaman. The league has been credited for providing a platform to several talented young cricketers across the state. It also helps the player bridge the gap between state franchise cricket and the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The members of the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association, along with the Gwalior Division Cricket Association president Prashant Mehta, are set to attend the Annual General Meeting in Indore, while Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia will attend the AGM. He is a member of the MPCA.
