Barcelona former captain Gerald Pique and his ex-partner, Colombian pop star Shakira, have decided to sell a property that they purchased together in Spain, splitting the profit equally.
While Shakira is currently based in Miami and performing for thousands of fans, Pique has been enjoying life with his new girlfriend, traveling to the Grand Canyon, and focusing on his business ventures since retiring from football three years ago.
Despite their split in 2022, Pique and Shakira still have joint assets that need to be handled, including properties that they purchased to prepare for a long life together, which ultimately did not come true. According to ABCthe two have just sold one of the three properties that they own in Esplugues de Llobregat, a town near Barcelona.
The property, originally intended as a residence for Shakira’s parents and located next to Piqué’s parents’ home (which is not for sale), was sold for US$3.5 million.
The two remaining villas are still on the market. Each is built on an area of 715 square meters, with six bedrooms, indoor and outdoor pools, a gym and even a recording studio designed specifically for Shakira, Newspaper now reported.
The total value of the two villas are around $12.86 million. They were designed and constructed by architect Mireia Admetller in 2012.
The negotiations are being handled privately by a company owned by Pique’s father, in an effort to filter out curious visitors and ensure that only serious buyers, rather than those merely interested in touring the former home of one of the world’s most famous couples, gain access out of curiosity.
