The mythological animated film 'Mahavatar Narsimha' is having a dream run at the box office, showing remarkable consistency even as it enters its fourth week in theatres. Directed by Ashwin Kumar, the film has been attracting audiences across multiple languages, emerging as one of the most successful animated films ever released in India.
According to early estimates by trade analyst Sacnilk, 'Mahavatar Narsimha' collected Rs 8 crore on day 24, i.e., Sunday, bringing its total earnings to an impressive Rs 210.35 crore. The film’s third-week collection stood at Rs 70.2 crore, despite a slight dip of around 4.36%. The weekend showed a steady hold, with Rs 7.25 crore business on Friday, Rs 6.75 crore on Saturday, and a strong jump on Sunday with Rs 8 crore.
Theatre occupancy
On August 17, the film enjoyed robust occupancy across Hindi and Telugu markets. In the Hindi 2D format, it recorded an overall occupancy of 58.11%, peaking in the evening with 76.06% before tapering to 51.30% at night. The Hindi 3D version performed even better, clocking an impressive 66.79% overall occupancy, with the afternoon (81.65%) and evening shows (86.39%) witnessing maximum turnout.
In the Telugu market, where the film has found a loyal audience, occupancy soared to 72.78% on Sunday. The evening shows were the highlight, with more than 83% occupancy.


Making a name as a blockbuster
Interestingly, it has surpassed Prabhas starrer 'Saaho' to become the 8th highest-grossing Hindi-dubbed film of all time and has become the 6th biggest Hindi film of 2025.


About the film
The film presents a grand retelling of two divine incarnations of Lord Vishnu, Varaha and Narasimha. It features voice performances from Aditya Raj Sharma, Haripriya Matta, and Priyanka Bhandari.
