In such a situation, the process of MBBS and BDS admission will now be hanging for a long time. In such a situation, the difficulties of the students taking admission in medical courses have increased.

This decision of WBMCC was taken at a time when the revised provisional merit list of 85% state quota has been released. A case of OBC reservation is going on in the West Bengal High Court, due to which WBMCC has postponed the NEET UG 2025 counseling process. Later the court had directed to release the revised merit list by August 22.

Admission is given on 85 percent of the seats under the state quota. A total of 11,178 candidates have applied for admission in these seats.
