Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has confirmed that the band will continue its much-loved “kiss cam” tradition at concerts, despite the recent viral controversy involving former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot. The scandal erupted during a show in Massachusetts when the Jumbotron unexpectedly caught the pair in a moment that sparked widespread speculation and criticism online.

At the band’s Music of the Spheres World Tour stop at Craven Park in Kingston upon Hull, England, as per Page Six reports, Chris Martin addressed the incident with his trademark charm and humor. “We are so happy to be here. Many of you have written signs. So, I’ll take some time to try and read some signs. Then we’ll see what happens,” he said, acknowledging the playful tradition that connects Coldplay with its audience.
Chris Martin breaks silence with humor - 'thank you for coming again'
Without shying away from the controversy, Chris Martin directly referenced the viral Boston show moment. When a fan in the crowd mentioned attending that very gig, 'Coldplay' star Chris Martin responded with gratitude, “You were at that Boston gig. Well, okay, thank you for coming again after that debacle.” His candidness was met with laughter and cheers.

Meanwhile, Chris Martin's most recent song was 'Good Feelings' which is the third single from 'Moon Music' album.
Why the kiss cam stays - 'We’ve been doing it a long time'
For Chris Martin, the kiss cam is about more than a gimmick—it’s a way to spotlight fans and celebrate community. “We’ve been doing it a long time, and it is only recently that it became a…yeah. Life throws you lemons and you’ve got to make lemonade,” he told the crowd. Reassuring fans, he added, “So, we are going to keep doing it because we are going to meet some of you.”
