The Nandamuri family is mourning the loss of Nandamuri Padmaja, wife of Nandamuri Jayakrishna and the eldest daughter-in-law of legendary actor-politician N. T. Rama Rao and Basava Rama Tarakam. Padmaja passed away on August 19 in Hyderabad at the age of 73 after a prolonged illness. Nandamuri Balakrishna, who is married to Padmaja’s younger sister Vasundhara Devi, was seen in tears at her funeral.

Videos of the funeral were shared by the fans on the internet, showing Balakrishna very emotional and wiping tears while engaging with the family members and receiving condolences. Many fans have expressed their condolences as well as their support to the grieving family.

Padmaja was married to Nandamuri Jayakrishna, the second son of NTR and Basava Tarakam. Jayakrishna, who began his career as a makeup artist for stars like Krishnam Raju and Vijayashanti, later turned to film production. He went on to produce several memorable films, including the 1978 classic 'Mana Voori Pandavulu,' which remains a landmark in Telugu cinema.


Padmaja also came from a politically prominent family, being the sister of senior leader Daggubati Venkateswara Rao. Known for her dignified presence, she was deeply respected within the extended family circle. Padmaja, who had been unwell for quite some time, was recently admitted to the hospital as her health deteriorated.
About Nandamuri Balakrishna's last film
On the work front, Nandamuri Balakrishna was last seen in the action drama film ' Daaku Maharaaj ,' where he played the role of Sitaram, an idealistic civil engineer who transforms into the feared dacoit "Daaku Maharaaj" to protect a village from corruption and exploitation. The film also stars Bollywood actor Bobby Deol as the antagonist Balwant Singh Thakur, alongside Pragya Jaiswal, Shraddha Srinath, Urvashi Rautela, and others.
He is expected to be seen next in 'Akhanda 2: Thaandavam,' directed by Boyapati Sreenu.
