The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has invited applications for two posts in the five -member Senior Men’s Selection Committee and four in the Women Selection Committee. The eligibility criteria for the post of selector have not changed over the years. The last date for submission of all applications is 10 September. After that, the BCCI will consider the names of the candidates.
Two posts vacant in male selection committee
Two posts in the Male Selection Committee are vacant. If the candidates are selected in the selection committee, they will be responsible for the selection of Team India (Senior Male) in any format fixed by Test, ODI and T20 International and BCCI. Eligibility for this has also been determined.
BCCI has determined eligibility
At least 7 Test matches; Or 30 first class matches; Or 10 ODIs and 20 first class matches.
Have retired from the game at least 5 years ago.
A total of 5 years should not be a member of any BCCI Cricket Committee.
Selection Committee recently selected for Asia Cup
An BCCI official told PTI that the contracts of the selectors are renewed every year. We have not yet decided which selectors will be replaced, but the process will be started soon. Currently, the chairman of the Men Selection Committee is former Indian fast bowler Ajit Agarkar and includes SS Das, Subrata Banerjee, Ajay Ratra and S Sharath. The committee has recently selected the team for the Asia Cup.
The BCCI has also invited applications for a post in the Men Junior Cricket Selection Committee, which is responsible for selecting teams of the age group (up to 22) for camps, tours and tournaments.
