Trey Murphy III, a forward for the New Orleans Pelicans, is being considered by the Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs, according to NBA insider Jake Fischer.

Murphy, who is 25 years old and regarded as one of the league's most promising players, just agreed to a four-year, $112 million deal extension with the Pelicans. Jonathan Kuminga's restricted free agency has presented challenges for the Warriors, making it difficult for them to make trades this offseason.
According to Fischer, Murphy has drawn a lot of interest from the Warriors, who have contacted the Pelicans about his availability. The Pelicans, who place a high value on Murphy and maintain that he is not on the trading market, have adamantly denied these questions.
Trade Discussions Intensify
Fischer emphasised that the Pelicans have continuously turned down trade proposals for Murphy, showing that they see him as a key component of their long-term strategy. According to reports, the team is asking a high price for Murphy, which includes several first-round draft selections as well as young players with promise. The Warriors have found it difficult to come up with a competitive offer because of this high asking price.
The Warriors are still eager to bolster their squad as they wait for Kuminga's case to be resolved. Their trading attempts are complicated, nevertheless, by the ongoing discussions around Kuminga's status. Fischer said that the Warriors have not yet made an offer that satisfies the Pelicans' requirements, which are significantly greater than what the Warriors are now able to provide.
The Spurs' interest adds even more complexity to the scenario because they are also trying to add a player of Murphy's calibre to their roster. The Warriors and Spurs are still weighing their alternatives, and the Pelicans are adamant on keeping Murphy, so it is unclear how these trade talks will turn out.
