Fishermen of Costa Rica have caught a strange shark, after seeing which, scientists have also been left baffled because the color of the skin of this fish is completely orange, while its eyes are completely white.
Often, we get to see something in the sea that is difficult to even imagine. Recently, a fisherman from Costa Rica got to see something similar. After seeing this, everyone was surprised. Actually, this group of fishermen caught a very rare shark in their net. It was not an ordinary shark, but a bright orange shark. Its eyes were as white as milk, and it looked like a mysterious creature because no one had seen such a shark before.
According to experts, the unusual color and eyes of this shark are the result of a rare genetic condition. Actually, symptoms of two different conditions, Xanthism and Albinism, were found in this shark. Xanthism is a condition in which more yellow pigment is produced in the body. Due to this, the color of the animals appears dark yellow or orange. This condition is seen in some fish, birds and reptiles. But it is considered almost impossible to find it in sharks. This is why this discovery is no less than a miracle for the scientific community.
Why is this no less than a miracle?The white eyes of this shark indicate that it also has albinism. This is a rare genetic condition in which the body cannot produce a pigment called melanin. Melanin gives black, brown, red or dark color to the skin, hair, scales and eyes. When this pigment is not produced, the body and eyes appear white or light. Albinism is very rarely seen in marine animals, so this discovery becomes even more important.
Scientists say that it is very rare for xanthism and albinism to appear together in a single species. This is probably the first case when the properties of both conditions have been found in the same shark. Earlier, in 2023, a white dolphin (albino dolphin) was seen by a newlywed couple, which attracted worldwide attention. Let us tell you that it is not easy for creatures with such unusual color and form to survive in the sea. Their bright color makes them stand out immediately. Predators can easily target them, and they also have difficulty in catching prey because the prey sees them from a distance.
This is why the survival of such a shark is nothing short of a miracle. This orange shark is not just a lifetime experience for a fisherman but also a great discovery for science. Such creatures help in understanding marine biodiversity more deeply and tell how nature creates life in unique forms.
