Actor Fahadh Faasil's recently released film, Maareesan, which turned out to be a flop in theatres, has finally found its audience after the OTT release.

Maareesan, which was released in July, earned decent reviews but failed to generate big numbers at the box office and ended up as a flop.
The film premiered on the OTT platform Netflix a couple of days ago, and since then, it has been widely appreciated by the audience. People are also discussing the film on social media platforms. Interestingly, Vijay Sethupathi's Thalaivan Thalaivi, which was released in the same week as Maareesan, was received well in theatres but panned after its OTT release.
Directed by Sudheesh Shankar, Maareesan showcases the story of a thief (Fahadh) who embarks on a journey with an old man (Vadivelu) who has Alzheimer's, trying to loot him. Netizens have applauded the storyline and the performances of both leads, especially of Vadivelu. Yuvan Shankar Raja's music was also widely appreciated after the OTT release. People who watched the film opined that Maareesan starts off slow but intrigues you eventually with its proceedings.
On that note, Maareesan becomes yet another film which flopped in theatres but was widely appreciated upon OTT release.
