Wheeler Dealers presenter Mike Brewer has issued a new update on the show's stolen classic Ford Fiesta over two years on from the crime. Mike and co-host Marc Priestleyhad fully restored an iconic 1979 Ford Fiesta Mk1 and had plans to show off their work at a car show.

Just as the duo were getting ready to set off, production crews noticed the car and its trailer had been taken from a hotel car park in Knottingley, West Yorkshire. The team put out an immediate call to action on social media for any leads, with no new information emerging since. In the immediate aftermath of the theft, Mike admitted he was devastated by the crime and even offered bonuses for any details which could lead to the vehicle.

However, more than two months later, Mike appears resigned to the fact that the model is lost for good. Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Mike said: "The trail is dead. It was dead over maybe two years ago now. The Fiesta's never coming back. I wish people would stop mentioning it.

"The only reason they keep mentioning it is because the lovely Discovery channel keeps showing it. They repeat the show over and over again and every time it gets repeated somebody is watching it for the first time and for them it's new news.

"They contact me and go 'oh it's a shame you had the Fiesta nicked, have you found it yet?' I keep saying to people 'no, it's gone'. If it was found, I'd shout it from the rooftops but I don't want it back now it's too late."

The duo claimed they had spent around 100 hours working on the car to bring it up to scratch. The build was even more iconic due to the scarcity of the model with Mike admitting that there were only a few left on the road.

Earlier this year, Mike reiterated that they had found out no new information in a blow to fans desperate for news.

He previously said: "I've been asked that question for over a year now. If it had you'd be the first to know. But we're never going to find it, it's never going to be recovered and we are not looking for it. So no Fiesta."

Mike Brewer: Born Dealer is airing on Quest and discovery+ every Monday at 9pm.
