Many big festivals like Durga Puja, Onam, and Eid-e-Milad will be celebrated in this month, due to which there will be holidays in banks as well. If you are thinking of completing important bank related work, then make your plan by looking at the list of holidays in advance, otherwise you may have to visit banks unnecessarily.

Bank Holidays: According to the calendar of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), in September 2025, there will be a total of 15 days of bank holidays across the country, including 9 festivals and 6 weekly holidays (Sunday and second-fourth Saturday). 3 September 2025 (Wednesday): Karma Puja – Banks closed in Jharkhand (Ranchi).

4 September 2025 (Thursday): First Onam – Holiday in Kerala (Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi).

5 September 2025 (Friday): Eid-e-Milad (Milad-un-Nabi) – Banks closed in many states, especially where it is a gazetted holiday.

6 September 2025 (Saturday): Eid-e-Milad (Milad-un-Nabi)/Indrajatra, Gangtok and Raipur will be closed.

7 September 2025 (Sunday): Weekly holiday – All banks closed across the country.

12 September 2025 (Friday): Day after Eid-e-Milad – Additional holiday in some states, especially where the festival is celebrated for two days.

13 September 2025 (Saturday): Second Saturday – Banks closed all over India.

14 September 2025 (Sunday): Weekly Holiday – Banks closed all over India.

21 September 2025 (Sunday): Weekly Holiday – Banks closed all over India.

22 September 2025 (Monday): Navratri Sthapana, holidays may be observed in Jaipur and many places as per the state government.

23 September 2025 (Tuesday): Birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji, banks will remain closed in Jammu and Srinagar.

27 September 2025 (Saturday): Fourth Saturday – Banks closed all over India.

28 September 2025 (Sunday): Weekly Holiday – Banks closed all over India.

29 September 2025 (Monday): Maha Saptami/Durga Puja – Regional holidays in some states, especially for the beginning of Durga Puja in Gujarat and West Bengal.

30 September 2025 (Tuesday): Durga Puja (Maha Saptami) – Banks closed in West Bengal, Jharkhand, Assam, Tripura, and other northeastern states.
