New Delhi: BTS member Kim Taehyung, better known to fans as V, created a global stir when he threw the ceremonial first pitch at the Los Angeles Dodgers vs Cincinnati Reds game on August 26. Wearing a Dodgers jersey with “V” proudly written on the back, the Winter Ahead crooner turned the baseball stadium into a stage of his own.

As soon as he walked out, the crowd erupted, and within minutes, the internet was flooded with clips and photos of the moment. Scroll down to take a look!

BTS V at Dodgers Game

Fans had been waiting with anticipation ever since the Dodgers announced V’s appearance last week. The atmosphere reached its peak when the stadium speakers blasted BTS’ hit Mic Drop as V took position on the mound. Flashing his trademark smile, he greeted the crowd with the iconic words, “It’s time for Dodger baseball!”

The simple act of tossing a baseball quickly transformed into a cultural event, watched not just by ARMYs but also by casual fans who admitted being won over by his charm and confidence.

Another highlight of the evening was V’s meeting with Japanese baseball superstar Shohei Ohtani. The pair posed together, sending the internet into overdrive. Social media users called it “a meeting of titans”, a rare crossover moment where the worlds of international sports and K-pop collided in the most unexpected way. The images and videos of their interaction trended worldwide, cementing the event as one of the most talked-about pop culture moments of the week.

ARMYs react to BTS V’s appearance

Online reactions only added fuel to the frenzy. One fan on X wrote, “imagine being so powerful you say 5 words and every girl in LA suddenly knows the Dodgers’ entire roster.” Another declared, “So proud of you Taehyung.”

Such was the scale of excitement that even the official Major League Baseball (MLB) website reportedly crashed temporarily. The site faced heavy traffic from fans across the globe who rushed to catch the live broadcast link, showcasing just how extensive BTS’ global reach remains. The buzz is unlikely to die down soon. V’s pitch comes just days before Korean football star Son Heung-Min is set to take the mound at the same stadium.
