Actress and Bigg Boss Tamil fame Vanitha Vijaykumar has officially joined the cast of the hit Tamil daily soap Idhayam . She will be portraying the role of Saroja, a character expected to bring a fresh twist to the storyline, adding more drama and intrigue to the ongoing plot.
Vanitha, a well-known name in Tamil cinema and television, began her acting career with the film Chandralekha (1995) directed by Nambirajan. She later appeared alongside Rajkiran in Manikkam (1996) and acted in the Malayalam film Hitler Brothers (1997). When film opportunities slowed down, Vanitha transitioned into other roles in the industry, working as a costume designer for her sister Preetha's films and assisting director P. Vasu during the making of Kakkai Siraginilae (2000). Following her marriage to actor Akash, she took a break from films.
Vanitha made a strong comeback to the limelight through television in 2019 with Bigg Boss Tamil Season 3. Though she was the second contestant to be eliminated, fan demand brought her back as a wild card entry, significantly boosting the show’s TRPs. She later participated in Cooku with Comali Season 1, emerging as the winner, and also featured in Bigg Boss Ultimate (Season 1).
Idhayam, featuring Pallavi Gowda and Richard Jose in lead roles, has been winning viewers’ hearts for its engaging storytelling and strong performances. With Vanitha’s entry, the makers are promising an even more captivating narrative as her character, Saroja, weaves into the lives of the main protagonists.
Vanitha’s return to television through Idhayam has been met with excitement from fans and industry colleagues alike. Viewers can look forward to gripping drama and compelling performances as her track unfolds in the upcoming episodes.
