Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Bill Gates visited the White House on Tuesday for a meeting with President Donald Trump, according to a spokesperson for Gates.

The two reportedly held a wide-ranging discussion focused on the future of U.S. global health programs and the critical role of medical research in saving lives and maintaining America's global leadership in health innovation.
In a statement shared with Fox News Digital, Gates' spokesperson said, "Bill met with the president to discuss the importance of U.S. global health programs and health research that is necessary to save lives, protect Americans' health, and preserve U.S. leadership in the world." The meeting reflects Gates' ongoing commitment to global health through his work with the Gates Foundation, especially as he continues to push for renewed U.S. leadership in pandemic preparedness and disease prevention.
Gates described the meeting as a "quite intriguing dinner," which lasted over three hours. He added that the conversation was attended by an individual who helps manage his affairs, as well as Trump aide Susie Wiles.
Gates Slams Trump's USAID Cuts
Despite the diplomatic tone of the visit, Gates has not held back criticism of Trump's recent decisions affecting international aid. Just days after the meeting, Gates publicly condemned the Trump administration's decision to shut down the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), which officially ceased operations on June 30 after staff were placed on administrative leave in February.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Gates warned that the consequences of halting USAID operations were "entirely preventable" and urged the administration to reconsider. "It's not too late to reverse them," he wrote.
