Exam City Announcement: The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has released the exam city details for the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2025. Candidates can access their exam venue information on the official website upsssc.gov.in. The PET 2025 will take place over two days, on September 6th and 7th.
The examination will be conducted in two shifts: the first from 10 AM to 12 PM and the second from 3 PM to 5 PM. Candidates are encouraged to choose their preferred shift based on convenience and their assigned exam center. Notably, the scores from this PET will now be valid for three years, allowing successful candidates to apply for various Group-C level recruitment exams during this period, an increase from the previous one-year validity.
Exam Pattern for PET 2025
Structure of the Exam: The Uttar Pradesh Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) will consist of 100 objective-type questions (MCQs), totaling 100 marks. Candidates will have 2 hours to complete the exam. It is important to note that negative marking will be in effect, with a deduction of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.
Subjects Covered: The exam will encompass a variety of subjects, including General Knowledge, Mathematics, Current Affairs, Reasoning, Hindi, and English, ensuring a comprehensive assessment of candidates' abilities.
Marks Distribution by Subject
The distribution of marks across subjects in the 100-mark exam is as follows:
- Indian History, Indian National Movement, Geography, Indian Economy, Indian Constitution and Public Administration, General Science, Elementary Arithmetic, General Hindi, General English, Logic and Reasoning - 5 marks each.
- Current Affairs and General Awareness - 10 marks each.
- Hindi Unread Passage, Graph and Table Interpretation - 10 marks each.
