1,139 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs will start in Delhi by March 2026, for which the recruitment process of doctors and medical staff will start from this week.

A big step has been taken towards strengthening health services in the capital Delhi. The way has been cleared for the appointment of doctors and medical staff for 1,139 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs to be started by March 2026. The most important thing is that in this recruitment, doctors will be given a one-time relaxation of 10 years in the age limit. That is, now doctors up to 55 years will also be able to apply, whereas earlier the maximum age was 45 years. Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena has approved this proposal. The Health Department is preparing to start the recruitment process from this week.

By March 2026, all Ayushman Arogya Mandirs will be fully started in Delhi. The Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Infrastructure Mission, funded by the Central Government, was started in the year 2021-22. The goal of this scheme is to provide primary health services to every citizen in his locality and ward. However, financial assistance from the Center for this will be available only till March 2026. For this reason, the government wants all the temples to start functioning fully by that time.

What will be the age?

The Delhi Health Department has informed that in the coming days, doctors, nursing staff and support staff will be appointed on contract. The maximum age limit of doctors has been increased from 45 to 55 years. Pharmacists and multipurpose health workers have also been given relaxation in the age limit. These appointments will be on contract basis so that all the centers can be started as soon as possible.

At present, the maximum age limit of medical officers on contract under the National Health Mission (NHM) was 45 years and that of pharmacists and multipurpose health workers was 30 years. But now with the new relaxation, thousands of experienced doctors and medical professionals will get job opportunities.

Treatment will be available nearby

A large population of Delhi is dependent on government hospitals and dispensaries. Often crowds and long waits increase the trouble of patients here. After the launch of Ayushman Arogya Mandir, people will be able to get basic treatment in their nearby area. With the availability of doctors and nursing staff, general checkups and primary treatment will be done easily. This will reduce the burden on hospitals and serious patients will be able to get immediate treatment.
