Anne Hathaway gave fans a scare after taking a painful-looking tumble down a flight of stone steps while filming The Devil Wears Prada 2 in New York. The Oscar-winning star, 42, was seen reprising her role as Andy Sachs when she lost her footing in heels and ended up sprawled on the ground.

Crew members quickly rushed to her aid after the heel of her right shoe appeared to snap mid-scene. Hathaway, dressed in Andy's signature chic style, looked shaken but unhurt as she was helped back up. She was later spotted brushing herself off and continuing with filming. The fall came during production on the long-anticipated follow-up to the 2006 hit, which famously pitted Hathaway's Andy against Meryl Streep's icy fashion editor Miranda Priestly.

Streep, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci are all confirmed to return, reuniting the film's original core cast nearly two decades later.

Plot details tease a shift in power dynamics: Miranda remains at the helm of Runway magazine, but Emily Charlton (Blunt), her once-overworked assistant, is now an executive at a luxury brand whose advertising dollars Miranda desperately needs.

Andy, meanwhile, has become a magazine editor in her own right but is inevitably drawn back into Miranda's world.

Fans of the original will remember that 2006's The Devil Wears Prada ended with Andy leaving Runway to pursue "serious" journalism, while her boyfriend Nate took a job in Boston.

The new film picks up years later, with Andy seemingly successful on her own terms - though her reunion with Miranda and Emily promises plenty of high-stakes drama in the cut-throat fashion world.

The movie appears to be huge U-turn as director David Frankel previously shut down the idea of a sequel. He told Metro in 2022: "There was a little bit of talk a couple of times - once after the movie was such a big hit 15 years ago.

"We all got on a conference call to discuss it and it was easily decided that that was a terrible idea.

"We had told this story, these characters were very complete in the way that they had appeared in this film and we had no imagination for where the story would go."
