Mumbai: The month of September 2025 is about to begin, and for devotees across India, it is set to be one of the most spiritually significant months of the year. Packed with major vrats, fasts and festivals, September will see a series of religious observances that bring families and communities together. With rituals ranging from Ganesh Utsav and Anant Chaturdashi to Pitru Paksha and Sharadiya Navratri, the entire month will be filled with devotion and celebration.

According to the Hindu calendar, September marks the time for some of the most awaited annual occasions. The month will begin with Ganesh Chaturthi festivities, followed by Ganesh Visarjan, Anant Chaturdashi and the 15-day long Pitru Paksha dedicated to ancestors. Later in the month, Sharadiya Navratri will commence, a nine-day festival of Goddess Durga that devotees eagerly wait for all year. September 2025 will also witness two major celestial events – the year’s second lunar eclipse on 7 September and the second solar eclipse on 21 September.
