Rajinikanth 's latest outing, 'Coolie', directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj , has been racking up strong numbers at the box office. Released during the Independence Day window, the film opened to massive numbers, clashing with Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s much-hyped 'War 2.' While the action entertainer has been a juggernaut so far, day 16 marked its lowest single-day collection.

According to early estimates from Sacnilk, 'Coolie' pulled in over Rs 1.75 crore on day 16 (3rd Friday), taking its total box office gross to Rs 273.25 crore.
Looking back at the week, 'Coolie' on its day 12. i.e., Monday, minted Rs 3.25 crore, followed by Rs 3.65 crore on day 13. Wednesday saw a surprising jump with Rs 4.85 crore, before dropping again to Rs 2.4 crore on Thursday. By the end of its second week, the movie had added Rs 41.85 crore to its tally, registering a decline of over 80% from its stellar first week but still holding steady. Despite the dips, 'Coolie' second week total stands at Rs 41.85 crore, with Tamil Nadu leading at Rs 24.2 crore, Hindi at Rs 9.4 crore, Telugu at Rs 7.55 crore, and Kannada at Rs 7 lakh.
