Fasting story of Santan Saptami

According to the legend, Lord Krishna, the Palanhar of the world, once told Pandu son Yudhishthira to the Saptami Tithi of the Shukla Paksha of Bhadra month i.e. child Saptami fast. The story of the wife of King Nahusha is also famous in the story of Santan Saptami Vrat, according to this, a king named Nahushya used to rule in Ayodhya at one time.

The name of the king’s wife was Chandramukhi, who had a beloved friend Roopmati. Once Rani Chandramukhi went to bathe on the Saryu coast with her friend, then she saw that many women were worshiping the child Saptami fast.

The queen sat there with her friend and went to know about the child Saptami fast and decided that she will also keep this fast to get children. The Brahmins continued to observe this fast. But, Rani Chandramukhi would never do this fast due to Rajamad.

Sometimes the queen and her friend left the body and went to the hereafter. Then he was born in many vagaries including animals and then he attained human body with his karma.

The Brahmin was born as a girl’s Roopmati to a Brahmin. At the same time, there was a Rajanya named Rani Chandramukhi Ishwari. Rupami remembered all the things of his previous birth even in this birth. He fasted on the child Saptami, from which he got 8 children. But, Ishwari was also childless in this birth.

Seeing Rupmati’s sons, Ishwari began to jealous, and she tried to kill her several times but she failed. However, he later regretted his actions and apologized. Ishwari also started fasting with children Saptami, due to which her lonely lap was also filled.
