The date of the biggest examination of Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC), Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET 2025), is near. This exam will be conducted on 6th and 7th September. 1479 examination centers have been set up in 48 districts across the state. Why is the PET exam held?

PET, i.e., Preliminary Eligibility Test, is a kind of screening exam. After passing it, candidates can apply for various Group C jobs in the UP government. That is, this exam is the first step to a government job. This time, the commission has made it clear that a total of 5,833 posts will be recruited through PET 2025. This includes jobs like Lower Subordinate, Junior Assistant, Lekhpal and Forest Guard. That is, this exam is mandatory for those candidates who dream of getting a government job. The score of this exam will also be useful in the upcoming recruitment processes.

Record breaking applications

This time the enthusiasm of the youth in the PET exam is worth seeing. According to official figures, a total of 25.31 lakh candidates have registered. This is a record in itself. About 6 lakh students will appear in each exam shift. This number shows how much the youth of UP want to get a government job.

Exam pattern

There will be a total of 2 papers in PET 2025. The first paper will be held on September 6 and the second paper on September 7. The exam time has been fixed from 10 am to 12 noon on both days. The exam will be conducted on OMR sheet and a total of 100 objective questions will be asked. 1 mark will be awarded for every correct answer while 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer. This means that candidates will have to answer the questions thoughtfully.

Strict arrangements to prevent cheating

It is not easy to conduct an exam on such a large scale. The administration has made strong arrangements to make the exam completely fair and free from cheating. A total of 32,259 CCTV cameras have been installed at the exam centers. The exam will be monitored live through these cameras. 2,958 sector and static magistrates have been deployed to ensure security and transparency. Apart from this, more than 1.64 lakh employees will be deployed for conducting the exam. The purpose of these strict arrangements is that every candidate gets equal opportunity and the exam process remains completely transparent.
