Sikh man performing 'Gatka' on road, shot dead by LA police; footage released Newspoint  |  2025-08-30T15:39:03+08:00

PTC News Desk: A Sikh man was shot dead in Los Angeles, US by the police after he was seen performing Gatka, a form of traditional Sikh martial arts, in the middle of the road. 


The police said that he was wielding a machete near Crypto.com Arena in downtown Los Angeles. He was shot dead after he refused to comply and even tried to attack the police. The machete was later identified as a "khanda" - a double-edged sword used in Indian martial arts.



The incident dates back to July 13, however the video has surfaced on social media almost a month later.
