Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has prepared a very ambitious blueprint for the coming 40 years. This roadmap includes big plans like building 3D printed houses on Mars, landing humans on Mars, mining on the moon and building human settlements there. It has been finalized on the occasion of National Space Day.

Plans for settlement and mining on the moon

According to ISRO's roadmap, a habitable place for humans will be built on the moon by 2047. Minerals and resources can be excavated here. Manned vehicles will operate on the surface of the moon. Fuel storage centers will be built on the moon itself, so that it can be helpful in traveling to distant planets and staying on the moon for a long time.

Mini Mangal is ready in Ladakh

ISRO has established the Himalayan Outpost for Planetary Exploration (HOPE) in the Tso Kar Valley of Ladakh. This place is at an altitude of 4530 meters above sea level, and the extreme cold, low oxygen and dry environment here gives a feel of the conditions like Moon and Mars.

A 10-day high altitude analog mission was recently conducted here to test life-support systems and technologies for future lunar and Mars missions. Those going on space missions will be able to prepare for that environment in the future.

PM Modi's mission is space

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had outlined the government's long-term plans for the space sector in 2023. He had set a target of building an Indian space station by 2025 and landing an Indian astronaut on the Moon by 2040. The Prime Minister has also asked ISRO scientists to plan deep space exploration to unravel the mysteries of the universe for the benefit of humanity.

Elon Musk's target is also three decades

Last year, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk made a big claim about establishing human settlements on Mars. He said that humans will start living on Mars in the next 30 years. He wrote in a post on SpaceX - An unmanned mission to Mars in less than five years, a 10-year mission to land people on the ground, a settlement in 20 years, but certainly a civilization can start living in 30 years.
