If you have started a job in a new company and your PF (Provident Fund) money has not been transferred by your old company yet, then it can be a matter of great concern. Nowadays it is common to change jobs, but it is equally important to carry the PF account with you. PF account creates a strong fund for your retirement, on which interest is also received every month. If PF is not transferred, then it can affect your interest, tax benefits and later on the withdrawal of funds. In such a situation, let us know that if PF is not getting transferred, then why does this happen, what is its solution and where to complain.

What are the reasons for not getting PF transferred?

1. Date of Exit not updated - If your old company has not updated your date of leaving the job (Date of Exit) correctly, then PF will not be automatically transferred.

2. Having two UAN numbers - Many times people have more than one UAN number. This causes problems in PF transfer.

3. KYC details not updated - If your Aadhaar, PAN or bank account is not updated correctly, then PF transfer may get stuck.

4. Not depositing funds - Some companies do not deposit the PF amount on time, due to which transfer is not possible.

How to transfer PF?

Now the process of PF transfer has become completely online. For this, log in to EPFO's website or https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/. After this, go to Online Services and choose One Member One EPF Account (Transfer Request) option. Then fill in the details of the old company and fill Form 13. Choose verification from either the new company or the old company. After submission, the transfer is done within 10 to 20 working days.

If PF is not getting transferred, where and how to complain?

If your PF is not getting transferred, you can lodge a complaint and there are many ways to do this -

1. Register a complaint on EPFiGMS portal - Register a complaint by visiting https://epfigms.gov.in. Here, fill in your UAN, PF account number, details etc. and complain online.

2. Send an email - You can also complain through email if your PF is not getting transferred. Complain by visiting employeefeedback@epfindia.gov.in.

3. EPFO toll-free helpline - If your PF is not getting transferred, you can also register a complaint on EPFO's toll-free helpline number 14470 or 1800-118-005. By calling here you can register your complaint or get updates.
