Walt Disney Animation Studios announced its next original film, Hexed, at the Destination D23 event in Orlando, Florida on 30 August 2025. Chief Creative Officer Jred Bush revealed the title and a vibrant logo, indicating a bizarre story released in theaters on 25 November, 2026. Josie, directed by Trinidad (Zutopia+) and Jason Hand (Moana 2), and promises to contribute a new contribution to the glorious heritage of Hexed Disney, produced by Roy Conli and Juan Pablo Reyes Lancaster-Jones.

The logline of the film describes a peculiar teenage boy and his type-a mother, which exposes his strangeness as the magical powers hidden, and push them into a secret world of magic that reverse his life. Concept Art displayed a colorful, fantasy-powered aesthetics that reminds of Enkanto and Raya and the Last Dragon, which emphasizes the subjects of personality and family bonds. After a mixed results of recent non-sequel films like Vish, Disney aims to attract the audience with this original story.

In the same program, the pixar previewed an original comedy, hoppers prescribed for March 6, 2026. Directed by Daniel Chong and produced by Nicole Paradis Grind, it stars Piper Karda and Bobby Mionihan in the lead roles. The story revolves around the nature-loving student Mable, which uses robotic beaver technology to protect a glade from a mayor’s highway project, which has a mixture of humor and action.

Disney’s 64th animated feature film, Hexed, Thanksgiving 2026 targets the weekend, a major place for family films like Frozen 2 and Moana 2. Despite not having no voice cast or soundtrack details yet, the curiosity for this magical mother-son adventure is increasing.
