Kannada writer and director SS David passed away at the age of 55 following a sudden heart attack . The filmmaker collapsed on the evening of August 31.
According to a OneIndia report, the filmmaker fell unconscious on the evening of August 31 at a pharmacy around 7.30 PM, and was rushed to S.S. Hospital in RR Nagar, Bengaluru, but was declared deceased.
Contributions to Kannada cinema
David was best known for his contributions as a screenwriter and director during the 1990s, leaving behind a repertoire of films that gained recognition for their gripping storytelling. His notable directorial ventures include ' Jaihind ' and ' Dhairya ', both of which earned him respect in the Kannada cinema. He was also important to the Kannada cinema as a writer, in particular, ' Police Story '.


Mark as a director
Apart from writing, David also left a bigger mark by getting behind the camera, directing films including 'Hai Bangalore' and 'Dhairya'.
The report also suggests that the police confirmed that David's family has not yet claimed his body, as his immediate relatives are currently unavailable. His sister, who resides in Kapu, Udupi, has reportedly expressed her inability to travel to Bengaluru. She has requested that the final rites be conducted locally.
Meanwhile, authorities have moved David’s body to Victoria Hospital as they await further communication from his relatives. Police officials clarified that the body would not be released until the family provides clear instructions or arrives in person.
