No salary for 'Visaranai' stars
Recently, Vetri Maaran shared interesting information about his salary and investigative film experience in his interaction with The Hollywood Reporter India. He said, “For 'Visaranai,' I, Dinesh, GV Prakash, and Kishore didn’t get a salary. I asked for 2.5 crores from Dhanush to make it, and he gave it without hearing the script. He even spent 3.5 crores for the Oscar campaign , and the film collected only 3.85 crores. We don’t get that kind of producer,” he said. Through this, Vetri Maaran has also emphasized the generosity of his friend, actor Dhanush, who has spent money in support of the arts.
'Visaranai' won 3 National Film Awards
'Visaranai' features Dinesh, Anandhi, Samuthirakani, Aadukalam Murugadoss, Kishore, and Pradheesh Raj in the main roles. The crime thriller is based on the novel 'Lock Up' by M. Chandrakumar. The music was composed by G.V. Prakash. The critically acclaimed film won three honors at the 63rd National Film Awards, under the categories Best Feature Film in Tamil, Best Supporting Actor for Samuthirakani, and Best Editing for Kishore Te.
