Daksh Gupta, a 23-year-old of Indian descent, is gaining attention in the United States for founding an AI startup aimed at assisting developers in code comprehension and review. As the co-founder and CEO of Greptile, he is known for his intense work schedule, often putting in 14-hour days, six to seven days a week—a regimen he advocates for young professionals.
His approach has ignited discussions about workplace culture. In San Francisco, Gupta candidly informs job candidates that he aims to cultivate an environment where work-life balance is not guaranteed, as he aspires to elevate his startup into a well-established enterprise.
Gupta's entrepreneurial journey commenced at Georgia Tech, where he collaborated with co-founders Soohoon Choi and Vaishant Kameswaran to identify potential projects. In 2022, they attempted to utilize Reddit reviews to aid consumers in making informed purchasing choices, but this initiative did not yield the desired results.
His pivotal moment arrived when he secured a $100,000 investment from tech mogul Christopher Klaus. In 2023, the team pivoted to developing AI tools for software engineers, initially branded as AI Onboard, which was later renamed Greptile. The startup successfully raised $5.3 million in seed funding.
Gupta elaborated on his work philosophy, stating: 'The current vibe is no drinking, no drugs, work from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., six days a week, lift heavy, run far, marry early, track sleep, eat steak and eggs.'
