Kannada television's biggest reality show Bigg Boss Kannada Season 12 is officially scheduled to premiere on September 28, 2025. The channel confirmed through a special promo released on the occasion of host Kiccha Sudeep ’s 52nd birthday. The visually striking teaser celebrates Karnataka's rich cultural tapestry, transitioning to Sudeep in his signature stylish avatar, sipping black coffee. A female voice then sets the stage: the house, the contestants, and viewers are all primed for the new season.
This announcement marks a surprising reversal from earlier this year. At a press conference on June 30, 2025, Sudeep, who had declared Season 11 as his farewell to the show, revealed not only his comeback for Season 12 but also his long-term commitment to host four more seasons through Season 15.
During the press meet, Sudeep addressed his earlier decision to step away, citing “creative differences” and unfulfilled ideas as motivating factors. He clarified that while he had no issues with the local production team, he had raised concerns about how the Kannada version was represented at higher levels, relative to other regional editions.
Adding more context, Sudeep reportedly negotiated the show's launch date, requesting a 3–4-week delay to accommodate his film commitments, including Billa Ranga Baashaa, his collaboration with director Anup Bhandari.
Season 11, which wrapped up in January 2025, was the longest-running edition, spanning 120 days, and ended with wildcard entrant Hanumantha Lamani emerging as the winner.
