The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) following significant rainfall and thunderstorms over the past two days. Previously, a yellow alert was also in effect, with similar weather conditions reported in Gurugram, Noida, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad. Many areas, including Gurugram and Ghaziabad, experienced flooding on Monday and Tuesday. In Punjab, the government has extended the closure of all schools until September 3 due to the ongoing flood situation. Many private schools are expected to conduct online classes on Wednesday, and although Gurugram schools may also follow suit, no formal directive has been issued for September 3.
A notice shared on platform X states that all Class 10 and 11 exams scheduled for September 3, 2025, have been postponed. The notice does not specify the reason, but it is believed to be due to adverse weather conditions.
In Uttar Pradesh, schools in Bulandshahr and Baghpat are closed on Wednesday due to heavy rainfall. Additionally, schools in Noida and Greater Noida, both government and private, will remain closed today, September 3, following an order from the District Magistrate.
In Gautam Buddh Nagar district, all schools will be closed on September 3 for students from nursery to Class 12. This closure applies to schools under the Basic Education Department, government-aided institutions, and those affiliated with CBSE, ICSE, and the Madrasa Board.
