As heavy rainfall continues across the Delhi-NCR region, schools are likely to remain closed on September 4. While no official announcement regarding school closures has been made yet, parents and guardians are advised to monitor official school communications for updates.






The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted scattered heavy showers across Delhi and its neighbouring regions, continuing the pattern of monsoon rains in early September. Areas such as Ghaziabad and Noida have already seen school closures today.
Considering the forecast, Delhi schools are expected to switch to online classes to ensure student safety.
FLOOD ALERT AS YAMUNA REACHES RECORD LEVELS
The Yamuna river in Delhi has crossed the danger mark and reached a record high due to persistent rainfall. On Tuesday, the water level at Delhi's Old Railway Bridge (ORB) was recorded at 206.03 metres, forcing authorities to close the bridge to traffic.

Meanwhile, of all government, aided, and private schools, colleges, universities, and polytechnics across the state until September 7, 2025, due to worsening flood conditions.
Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains shared the update on X, citing orders from Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann: "As directed by CM Punjab Bhagwant Singh Mann, in view of the flood situation, all Government/Aided/Recognised & Private Schools, Colleges, Universities & Polytechnics across Punjab will remain closed till 7th Sept 2025. Everyone is requested to strictly follow the administration's guidelines."
Authorities have advised citizens to remain vigilant, adhere to official safety guidelines, and refrain from non-essential travel.
