Another key character introduced in part 2 is Isaac Night, who has an important link to the Addams family.

Let’s break down Isaac's past, including how he fits into Nevermore history and what his plans are in season 2.

Who is Isaac in Wednesday?

Isaac Night is a former Nevermore student who died under mysterious circumstances following an explosion in his laboratory.

He was the genius brother of Francoise Galpin, Tyler Galpin’s mother, and was famous for his many inventions during his time at the school.

Isaac was also a DaVinci, an outcast with telekinetic powers, and had a clockwork heart.

The character is first introduced to the Netflix series as the zombie, Slurp, who Pugsley decides to raise from the dead in a quest for friendship at Nevermore.

However, his true nature is soon revealed when he goes on a brain-eating killing spree.

What is Isaac’s link to the Addams Family?

When Isaac Night and Francoise were both students at Nevermore, the genius inventor built a machine in an attempt to ‘cure’ his sister of her Hyde condition, which would eventually kill her.

He decided to ask his best friend and roommate at the time, Gomez Addams, for help due to his electrical powers.

However, Isaac failed to tell Gomez that hooking him up to the machine that would save his sister would cost him his life.

Luckily, Morticia was able to save Gomez, causing the experiment to go awry.

This led to a huge explosion, which left Isaac dead and Gomez robbed of his powers forever.

Gomez and Morticia then buried Isaac in the Nevermore Cemetery, hoping their secret would never be revealed.

Who plays Isaac in Wednesday?

Owen Painter portrays Isaac Night throughout Wednesday season 2, first being introduced as a zombie Pugsley calls ‘Slurp’ before revealing his true identity later on.

He is probably best known for playing Young Lucas in TV miniseries Tiny Beautiful Things, which stars Kathryn Hahn as lead character Clare.

The Handmaid’s Tale fans might also recognise Painter as Jaden, who is a young Guardian serving in a Gileadean border region to Canada.

The actor only has a handful of credits to his name, but will undoubtedly be lining up some exciting new roles following his performance in one of Netflix’s biggest shows.

Wednesday season 2 part 2 is available to stream now on Netflix.
