Manchester United have entered the first international break of the 2025/26 season, having played just three Premier League matches so far. The Red Devils have managed to secure four points from a possible nine, with only one victory in their opening round of top-flight games.
Ruben Amorim's side entered the international break on a high note, following a thrilling 3-2 win over Burnley, courtesy of a last-minute penalty from Bruno Fernandes. Several squad members are now scattered around the world, representing their national teams, while others have stayed at Carrington to maintain their fitness levels ahead of the Premier League's return.
However, there are some early-season injury concerns for some players within the United ranks, reports Manchester Evening News.
United are set to resume action after the international break with a highly anticipated Manchester derby against rivals Manchester City on 14 September. Here, the Daily Express takes a look at the latest Man United injury news.
Matheus CunhaMatheus Cunha sustained a hamstring injury during United's recent victory over Burnley.
The new recruit from Wolves has subsequently been withdrawn from the Brazil squad for the current round of international fixtures and is a doubt for United's upcoming clash with City.
Cunha took to social media on Wednesday to offer a glimmer of hope to United fans.
"What an incredible environment, it's great to be here," wrote Cunha. "I'll be back soon, always with joy and gratitude. Thanks for all the messages."
Potential return date: Unknown
Mason Mount also sustained an injury during the triumph over Burnley last Saturday.
Amorim revealed that Mount continued playing for 30 minutes whilst carrying an injury against the Clarets before being withdrawn and confessed at the time that he was uncertain about the extent of the injuries to both Mount and Cunha.
"It was hard to lose Cunha and Mason Mount, because Mason Mount played 30 minutes with an injury," Amorim said following the victory over Burnley.
"I'm concerned about that, because they are so important for us. We will see. I don't know [how they are], I don't know. We will check them. We need those guys really bad to be really competitive."
Potential return date: Unknown
Lisandro MartinezLisandro Martinez has been ruled out with a knee injury that he sustained back in February.
The defender has been undergoing rehabilitation ever since and is now back in training with hopes of returning to the United matchday squad in the coming weeks.
