Hyderabad: Anushka Shetty’s upcoming action drama Ghaati is gearing up for release on September 5, and anticipation is running high. Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and produced by First Frame Entertainments with presentation by UV Creations, the film has already made waves with its teaser, trailer, and songs.

Recently, Rana Daggubati caught up with Anushka over a phone call to discuss the project. Sharing her thoughts, Anushka said, “Ghaati is violent and intense, but more than that, I felt it was the right time for such a story. After Baahubali and Arundhati, this film brings a different kind of intensity. It feels very relevant and apt for today’s audience. The setting, based on the tribal community at the Andhra–Odisha border, immediately drew me in.”

She elaborated that the story begins with a community but narrows down to the personal journey of Desi Raju and Sheelavathi. “It’s about transformation—how a victim who chooses her own path is branded a criminal, but through that struggle, she rises to become a legend. That redemption arc is what makes this story powerful,” she explained, adding that Krish has once again created a role that challenged and inspired her, much like her character in Vedham.

Meanwhile, Rana revealed that director Krish had spoken with great enthusiasm about the film when they met recently in Chennai. He assured Anushka of his presence at the premiere, further adding to the excitement around the project.

With just days to go before release, Ghaati looks set to deliver a gritty and compelling cinematic experience, marking another milestone in Anushka’s career.
