GST Rate Cut: A two -day meeting of GST Council (GST Council) has started in Delhi from today, and this meeting has brought a very good news for the farmers. Taking a major decision, the council has reduced GST Slabs on many farming goods. In easy language, now everything from tractor to crop cutting machines has become cheaper. This is a great gift for farmers before Diwali, which will directly affect their pockets.
The biggest relief is found on the tractor. Earlier, the tractor used to have 12% GST, which has now come down to just 5%. Think, if you take a tractor of ₹ 8 lakh, then earlier you had to pay around ₹ 96,000 GST, but now only ₹ 40,000 will have to be given. This means a direct savings of ₹ 56,000!
Apart from this, GST has also been reduced from 18% to 5% on tractor tires and parts. This is a very important decision because farmers have to spend a lot on the maintenance and repair of the tractor. Now this expenditure will also be reduced considerably.
GST has been reduced not only on tractor, but also on all those machines that make farming easier.
These systems help save water. Earlier, there was 12% GST, which has now come down to 5%. Due to this, there will be more cultivation in less water and the cost will also be low.
GST has also been reduced from 12% to 5% on these. They are also good for the environment and they also improve the quality of the crop.
GST has also come down from 12% to 5% on machines used for sowing, crop harvesting and threshing. With this, farmers will now be able to buy new and modern machines instead of old machines, due to which their work will be faster.
This decision is directly to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s thinking of “self-reliant India” and “Ease of Living”. The GST Council has reduced these rates so that the lives of farmers can be easier. When farmers get good equipment at low cost, then profits will increase in their farming. This will further strengthen the country’s agriculture sector.
This is really a historical decision, which shows that the government understands the needs of farmers. Now farmers will not have to spend much for farming goods and they will be able to pay more attention to their crop. This change will be beneficial not only for the farmers, but for the economy of the entire country.
