New Delhi: Lady IPS officer Anjana Krishna is in the news after a heated conversation with Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar went viral on the internet. She is now being dubbed ‘Lady Singham’.

Know all about Anjana Krishna

IPS Anjana Krishna is posted in Solapur district of Maharashtra. The 2023 batch IPS officer is presently the DSP of Karmala Tehsil in Maharashtra. She has been in the services for just 2 years as of now.

Krishna hails from Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram. Her father runs a small cloth shop there and her mother works as a typist in court. Anjana did her schooling at St. Mary’s Central School in Poojapurra and graduated in BSc. Mathematics from HHMSPB NSS College for Women, Neeramankara.

In 2022, she secured an all India rank of 355 in UPSC Civil Services. She is known as an honest officer and is also praised for her determination and sharp administrative skills.

Controversy surrounding Krishna and Ajit Pawar

Anjana Krishna was threatened by Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar over phone on September 1. The conversation was caught on camera and has since gone viral. The NCP leader can be heard talking to the IPS officer, telling her to stop action against illegal excavation in Kurdu village of Madha taluka.

The officer was speaking with the Deputy CM on a mobile phone belonging to a NCP worker. She tells Pawar to call her on her number. Ajit Pawar in an angry tone then goes on to ask for her number and tells her that he will make a video call to her, so that it is proved that she is talking to him only and not any impersonator.

The video of the interaction went viral. Ajit Pawar can also be heard threatening action against Krishna if she fails to follow his orders and stop the action against excavation.
