Delhi University Admission Update

DU Admission: Delhi University (DU) is offering a chance for students to enroll in undergraduate programs without needing a CUET score. This round of admissions will be based solely on 12th-grade marks, providing a significant opportunity for those who have not yet secured a seat. Let's delve into the details of this mop-up round and its timeline.

Understanding the Mop-Up Round

Due to remaining vacancies in various courses across Science, Arts, and Commerce, DU has initiated a mop-up round starting today. Admissions will rely on 12th-grade marks, eliminating the requirement for a CUET score. The colleges will manage the seat-filling process, and if any seats remain unfilled after this round, the admission process will conclude.

Eligibility Criteria for Applicants

Students who have completed their 12th grade can apply, including those who passed through compartment exams. If you previously registered on DU's Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) but did not receive a seat, you do not need to re-register; simply update your profile. New applicants who did not use the CSAS portal can now apply based on their 12th-grade marks. However, those who have already secured a seat through CUET are not eligible for this round.

Mop-Up Round Schedule

Key Dates:

  • Application Deadline: September 7, 2025

  • Vacant Seats List Release: September 4, 2025, by 5 PM on the DU website

  • Seat Allotment Period: September 8 to 11, 2025

  • Last Date for Fee Payment: September 13, 2025

Application Fees:

  • General, OBC, EWS: ₹250

  • SC, ST, PwD: ₹100

  • Mop-Up Fee: Additional ₹1000 for all applicants

Admission Process Overview

To apply, visit ugadmission.uod.ac.in between September 4 and 7. Ensure that your 12th-grade marks are accurately entered. Colleges will compile a merit list based on these marks starting September 8. In cases of tied scores, the tie-breaking rules from the CSAS portal will apply, considering the best four subjects (including one language). If you receive multiple seat allotments, you must select one and pay the fee by September 13. An affidavit confirming that you have not enrolled in any other DU college for the 2025-26 session will be required. If you are allotted a new seat after accepting one from the mop-up round, you can cancel your previous admission by paying the difference fee within two days.

Important Tips for Applicants

Ensure that all details are filled out correctly, especially your 12th-grade marks. Check the DU website on September 4 at 5 PM for the list of available seats. Act quickly, as the application window is only four days long. Regularly monitor ugadmission.uod.ac.in for updates and information.

Why This Opportunity is Unique

This mop-up round is particularly significant as it allows direct admission based on 12th-grade marks, a shift from the previous CUET-based admissions. This is especially beneficial for students who did not perform well in CUET or missed the application window. Seize this chance to secure a spot at a prestigious institution like DU.
