Everyone aspires to get beautiful and glowing skin. To fulfill this wish, people sometimes try home remedies and sometimes spend money on expensive beauty products. But nowadays a new trend is becoming increasingly viral on social media, improved the face with roasted turmeric.
It is being said that by frying turmeric on light flame, it brings amazing glow on the skin and also reduces pimples. In many videos and posts, people are claiming that this remedy makes the skin immediately bright. But the question is whether roasted turmeric really makes a difference on the face or is it just the internet made hyp?
Turmeric has been used in Ayurveda and home remedies for centuries. It has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties called curcumin, which help reduce skin problems such as pimples, acne and skin infections. Traditionally turmeric is used by mixing face packs and scrubs.
However, according to experts, roasting turmeric can affect some of its properties. Curcumin may lose its strength in summer, which reduces its effect.
Beauty and skin experts believe that the advantages of turmeric are proved to be for the skin, but there is no scientific evidence of “roasted turmeric”. Frying turmeric can reduce its antioxidant properties, which does not benefit the skin much.
Many people use it as a scrub because the roasted turmeric texture becomes a slightly granule (granular), which helps in removing dead cells. This can make the skin look slightly bright, but this effect is not permanent.
Skin specialists say that instead of applying roasted turmeric directly on the face, you can make a face pack by mixing turmeric in milk, curd, gram flour or aloe vera gel. It proves to be more effective on the skin.
It is important to do a patch test before applying roasted turmeric, as it does not suit everyone’s skin type. If there is irritation or rashes on the skin, it should be stopped immediately.
In addition, it is not right to depend on home remedies only. If there is constant pimples, dark spots or any other problem on your skin, then consultation from a dermatologist is the best option.
