The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has announced the Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme 2025, aimed at supporting meritorious students from economically weaker sections (EWS). The scheme provides financial assistance for pursuing higher education in recognized government or private institutions across India.

Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the official LIC website licindia.in until September 22, 2025.

Who Can Apply?

The scholarship is available only to students belonging to economically weaker families with an annual household income not exceeding ₹4.5 lakh.

  • For Class 10 Pass Students: Candidates must have scored at least 60% marks in Class 10 during the academic years 2022-23, 2023-24, or 2024-25.

  • For Class 12 Pass Students: A minimum of 60% marks in Class 12 during the same academic years is required.

  • For Girls: Special scholarships are offered to female candidates who have passed Class 10 with at least 60% marks and have secured admission in ITI, Class 12, or higher studies.

The scheme is not applicable for postgraduate courses.

Scholarship Distribution

LIC operates through 112 divisional offices across India. Each office selects 100 students, out of which:

  • 80 General Scholarships: Equally divided among boys and girls (40 each). If fewer boys qualify, the remaining slots are given to girls.

  • 20 Special Scholarships: Reserved exclusively for girls.

Benefits Under the Scholarship

  1. Medical Stream – Students pursuing MBBS, BAMS, BHMS, or BDS after Class 12 will receive ₹40,000 annually, disbursed in two installments of ₹20,000 each.

  2. Engineering Courses – Students enrolling in BE, BTech, or BArch will get ₹30,000 per year, released in two installments of ₹15,000 each.

  3. Undergraduate, Diploma, and ITI Courses – Selected candidates will receive ₹20,000 per year (₹10,000 each in two installments).

  4. Special Scholarship for Girls – After Class 10, girls admitted to ITI, Class 12, or diploma courses will receive ₹15,000 per year in two installments.

Direct Transfer to Bank Accounts

The scholarship amount is credited directly to the beneficiary’s active bank account via NEFT. Selected students must provide their bank account details, IFSC code, and a cancelled cheque while applying.
