Actor Rahul Sharma , who has been part of popular shows like Yashomati Maiyya Ke Nandlala, Teri Meri Love Stories, Kaal Bhairav Rahasya, and Ek Ghar Banaunga, and was last seen as Anshuman in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai , opened up about his decade-long journey in the television industry . The actor reflected on the lessons he has learned and the misconceptions people have about TV actors .
Rahul began his career in 2011, and he admits the experience has been transformative. “I’ve learned so much about the industry, and I know that the most important thing is to just do your job and enjoy the ride. Don’t get too attached to things like name, fame, money, or even people. If you get too attached, you can slip into a different zone altogether and get delusional about fame and success. It will come, but it will also go—it won’t stay forever. So just enjoy the ride,” he shares.
The actor also spoke about how TV actors are often unfairly stereotyped. “Most of the time, people perceive TV work as being about quantity rather than quality. But as an actor, I don’t think I’m failing—nor is anyone else. It’s just people’s point of view. Perspectives shift just by what others say, even without meeting you. Some TV actors may not have performed well in films, but it’s unfair to stereotype everyone. On TV, we perform every single day and carry the entire show on our shoulders. This process is far more demanding than a Bollywood project because of the constant expectations of the audience,” he explains.

For Rahul, every obstacle has been a stepping stone. “I don’t call them hardships—I call them learning experiences. I’ve learned a lot through this journey. It’s been fulfilling to grow as an actor and as a person. A creative person will go anywhere and give their best. On TV, there are very few pillars holding up the show. Whatever is coming my way, I’m accepting it with open arms,” he concludes with gratitude and positivity.
