
Meerut CM Grid Yojana: Meerut is now on the new path of development. After the Rapid-Metro Corridor, the internal roads of the city are going to be rejuvenated. It is being said that traveling on the streets of Meerut in the next 15 months will give experience of roads like Bengaluru. On Saturday, Mayor Harikant Ahluwalia inaugurated the road construction work from Bacha Park to the Commissioneral Square and Commissioneral Housing intersection to the Circuit House.
After Garh Road, now a 1.62 km long road will be constructed from Bacha Park to Commissionerate intersection at a cost of about Rs 27 crore. At the same time, 1.02 km long road will be constructed from the Commissioneral Housing Square to Circuit House at a cost of Rs 20 crore. In this way a total of Rs 47 crore will be spent on both roads.
The design of new roads has been designed in such a way that neither electrical wires nor open drains will appear. Underground power cables and drainage will be arranged. Besides, ducts will also be made for roadside drinking water lines and telecommunications. The pavement on both sides and vehicle parking will also be available in between.
The construction work has been assigned to GS Express Private Limited and RCC Developers. Both companies will also take responsibility for the maintenance of these roads for five years. Traffic diversion will also be done if needed during work so that people do not face much problem. Meerut residents are now going to experience modern and convenient journey on the internal roads of the city soon.
