Pitru paksha 2025: Pitra Paksha or Shraddhapaksha is considered an important period of Hinduism, which is dedicated to the ancestors. During this time, works like Shraddha, Tarpan and Pindadan of dead ancestors of three generations are done. Pitru Paksha runs from the full moon date of Bhadrapada to the Amavasya of Ashwin month i.e. 15 days. During the Pitru Paksha, the ancestors are worshiped on the date of death, Brahmins are served food, water, sesame and kush are offered to the ancestors, the meat and the food items are forbidden in the ancestral, and during this time the importance of charity is also increased. But there are some things that are completely forbidden on the ancestral side. That is, this work should not be done during the 15 -day period of Pitru Paksha.

But there are some things that if done during Pitru Paksha, then Pitra also becomes very sad. Pitru Paksha falls during Chaturmas. There are already auspicious time for Manglik works in Chaturmas. But this time is also not considered auspicious for the wedding-dispute shopping or interacting for a relationship or to ensure marriage. You can do this work only after the end of Pitra Paksha.
Mundan and Karnavedha (ear piercing) are an important rites of Hinduism. But this rituals should be avoided at the time of Pitru Paksha.
It is believed that at the time of Pitra Paksha, you should not shop for gold and silver and do not buy any valuable item for the house at this time. Do not buy new clothes in 15 days of Shraddha Paksha.
