After wrapping up the shoot for the current season of The Great Indian Kapil Show , Kiku Sharda recently made his return to the reality TV with Rise and Fall , a 42-episode captive reality show . It marks his return to the competitive non-fiction genre almost 11 years after Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7 . In a chat with Mumbai Mirror, he shares, “Yes, I am coming back to a reality show after a long time. I found the format of Rise and Fall interesting and wanted to challenge myself. I’m not very social, and over time I feel I’ve become even more antisocial, so this show is like an eye-opener for me. Since it runs for just six weeks, I felt it was manageable and worth attempting. Hopefully, I’ll survive it.”
Beyond his professional choices, Kiku is also turning his attention inward, specifically toward his health and physical well-being. Known for his comic timing — a genre often linked with performers who embrace a larger-than-life persona rather than conventional fitness ideals — he shares that beyond his endearing on-screen persona, he does think about his physical health and body weight, though not with the intention of altering his identity as a comic actors. He says, “I was much lighter when I was doing FIR or when I started doing The Kapil Sharma Show. I will never be a six-pack abs guy, nor do I wish to be. However, I do plan to lose weight because with age catching up, it’s not really the best physical state to be in. I am not really bothered about how it will change my life in terms of being a comic actor, and even if I lose 20–25 kgs, I’ll still be overweight. I have gone a little beyond what I should have been, so in the next few months, or at least in the next one year, I do plan to lose some weight.”
