Callum Vidler Rules out of Australia a Team: Australia’s fast bowler Calum Widler has been ruled out of the team for the two -match unofficial Test series and ODI series between India A and Australia A. Pidler has been dropped from Australia A team due to stress francutors.
Another name has been added to the fast bowlers’ injury as soon as he was injured. Prior to this 19 -year -old Test captain Pat Cummins, Lance Maurice and Body couch are also out of the race for selection due to injury. The series between the A team of the two countries will begin on September 30. Vidler played the last match in professional cricket against South Australia in the Sheffield Shield of 2024-25 and then took five wickets during his team’s defeat.
Queensland’s High Performance General Manager, Joe Davas, told ‘ESPNCricinfo’ that Callum had back pain during training and immediately reported it. Unfortunately, the stress fracture in the scan has been confirmed, so they will take some time to recover and then the scheme of rehabilitation will have to be started.
He said that he is naturally disappointed but believes that injuries are part of the game. We will work together with them to ensure that he can be fully prepared to return to cricket. Prior to the removal of Pidler, Australia A also lost Maurice and the couch due to injuries from the red ball phase of the series against India starting from 16 September.
The couch had a side strain but is expected to recover by their shield session while Mauris will be out of cricket for a year. Wideller was part of Australia’s Under-19 World Cup winning team in 2024. Henry Thornton will be with the team for a three limited overs match in the absence of Pidler.
Last week, Australia’s top fast bowler Pat Cummins was excluded from the upcoming limited overs matches of the senior team against New Zealand and India as the scan revealed his waist. Australia A will play two informal Tests and three informal ODIs during the tour of India. (With language input)
