Delhi news: The MCD School at Jhadoda Kala in Delhi has been converted into a relief camp. After the rise of the Yamuna water level, about 600 to 650 people have been re -developed here. These include many families who are currently living in the school premises like refugees. The administration says that all necessary facilities are being provided.
People living in the camp are being given four times a day. It starts with tea-biscuits in the morning, followed by breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and then dinner. Special milk has been made for young children. On Saturday, Rajma-rice in lunch and potato-pea vegetable and full served in the morning breakfast.
Classes are currently closed offline due to the school being converted into camp. However, the administration says that online classes and work assignments are being started to ensure that children’s education is not affected. Preparations are also being made to provide notebooks and pens to children so that they can be kept connected with studies.
The dedicated medical team is posted in the camp. Doctors of MCD and DGHS are continuously serving. Paramedical staff is also present for primary treatment. There are more cases of fever, allergies and viral infections. Apart from this, children are being given milk thrice a day to children younger than two years. Dedicated medical camps and ambulance for elderly and sick people have been kept on the standby.
SDM of Jhadoda art said that the entire responsibility of the camp has been handled by the administration. All the departments are running relief work together. Around 20 civil defense personnel are also deployed all the time. The administration says that the water level of Yamuna is gradually decreasing and the situation is expected to be normal in the next one week. After this, people will be able to return to their homes.
The families living in the camp say that the system of food and drinking and medicines is correct, but the education of children is stalled. They want alternative arrangements to study as soon as possible. At the moment, all the people are hoping that after getting down the water, they will be able to return to their homes again.
