Delhi Traffic Challan: If you are a resident of Delhi and drive a vehicle. And your challan has been issued, then this news may be of use to you. If you have not paid the fine, then you have a new chance to pay your dues and avoid lengthy court procedures. Delhi Traffic Police and Delhi State Legal Services Authority are again using the Lok Adalat system to settle a large number of negotiable traffic challans. The challan will be settled through the Lok Adalat.

Drivers are getting a chance to settle quickly, often at a lower amount, by registering for Lok Adalat tokens, attending hearings, or using official online means.

How to register
Visit the official website of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA).
Choose the Lok Adalat registration option.
Fill the application form and upload the required documents.
After submission, a token number and appointment letter will be issued via email or phone.
The appointment letter will mention the date, time, and place of appearance.

Applicants must bring original documents related to their case, token number, and appointment letter. Officials have advised arriving at least one hour before the scheduled time.

Which challans will get exemption?
If your challan is issued for reasons like driving without a seat belt, driving without a helmet, crossing a red light, wrong challan, speeding, lack of a valid PUC certificate, wrong parking, driving without a license, etc., then you will get an exemption in Lok Adalat.

Cases will be heard based on token numbers. The judge will review each challan and decide whether the fine should be waived completely or reduced. In cases where violations are repeated or serious, fines can also be imposed. After the order is passed, the case will be considered closed.

Where will the Lok Adalat be held in Delhi?
Lok Adalat in Delhi will be held on September 13 at Patiala House, Karkardooma, Rouse Avenue, Tis Hazari, Dwarka, Saket and Rohini. This Lok Adalat will be held from 10 am to 4 pm. You can come here to get your challan settled.
