Nitin gadkari news: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that a prejudice-inspired paid campaign is being run on social media in protest against 20 percent ethanol-Mishrit Petrol (E20), so that they can be targeted politically.
Speaking during an event, Gadkari said that the paid campaign against him for the rollout of E20 petrol has now proved to be completely false.
The Union Minister was answering questions at the annual conference of Automobile Manufacturers Society. When he was questioned on concerns to the ethanol mixture in petrol, he said, “It was a paid campaign against me on social media, which was run to target me politically. Now this campaign has proved to be false.”
Gadkari further said that he has requested the Finance Minister to consider relieving the old vehicle and giving relief to those who buy new vehicles in GST. He stressed that such a step would be beneficial for both consumers and auto industry.
Reacting to the increasing concerns of the petrol lobby and the increasing concerns about the E20, Gadkari said that the petroleum sector is active in protest against this initiative. He said, “Every field has a lobby, has its own interests… Petrol lobby is very strong.”
Referring to the effect of E20 in the context of pollution, he said, “The world has accepted that it is necessary to reduce pollution. A report states that if the current pollution level remains, the average age of Delhi can be reduced by 10 years.”
The Union Minister said that organizations such as automobile manufacturers and institutions like Automotive Research Association of India have shared their studies on ethanol mixture. He said, “Just as your industry works, politics also runs the same. The campaign that was carried out on social media was completely inspired by political purpose. There was no facts in this, all things are clear now. Ethanol mix is now an alternative to import, economical, pollution is free and completely indigenous.”
Explain that E20 is a mixture of petrol, 80% traditional petrol and 20% ethanol. The government considers it a big step towards reducing carbon emissions and fossil fuel imports. However, many vehicle owners say that this has reduced fuel efficiency and has increased the breakdown of the engine, reducing the age of the vehicles.
