When it comes to explosive batting in T20 Internationals, Abhishek Sharma’s name often tops the list. But now, a new storm has arrived—Dewald Brevis, the young South African batter, who is proving to be an even bigger nightmare for bowlers.

On 10 September, in the first T20I against England, Brevis gave a glimpse of his power-hitting by smashing 23 runs off just 10 balls, which included 3 towering sixes at a strike rate of 230.

So far, Brevis has clobbered 29 sixes in T20 Internationals, compared to just 19 fours. In other words, he prefers sending the ball out of the park rather than along the ground.

In total, he has scored 341 runs from 176 balls in 11 innings, maintaining a jaw-dropping strike rate of 193.75.

With this record, Brevis has overtaken Abhishek Sharma, who previously held the No.1 spot with a strike rate of 193.49 in 17 innings across 18 matches.

Not just strike rate—Brevis is also ahead in batting average. While Abhishek averages 33.23, Brevis boasts an impressive 37.88 in T20Is.
