Central Railway continues its commitment to provide better passenger convenience and safety by enhancing station amenities across its network. Significant upgrades and installations have been carried out to ensure a comfortable, accessible, and seamless travel experience for all commuters.

Key highlights of amenities provided by Mumbai division during the period January to August 2025 are as under:

PASSENGER COMFORT:

Escalators:

· A total of 10 escalators have been provided which includes 2 escalators each at Karjat, Tilak Nagar, Mankhurd, Vikhroli and Vangani stations.

Lifts:

· A total of 9 lifts have been provided which includes 3 at Govandi, 2 each at Khardi, Sewri stations and 1 each at Shelu, Chunabhatti stations

Foot Over Bridge work:

· 6 mtrs wide FOB completed at Govandi.

· Old CSMT old FOB connectors to platform 14/15, 16/17 & 18 replaced with MS chequered plate deck.

· Reconstruction of old staircase at Masjid station completed.

PASSENGER INFORMATION:

Platform and Train indicators

· Four new GPS clocks have been installed at Sandhurst Road station.

· Old suburban train indicators have been replaced with new indicators with better visibility at Ghansoli, Rabale and Airoli stations.

· 16 Platform indicators & 8 subway indicators have been replaced with new ones at Vashi station.

· 16 Platform indicators have been replaced with new ones at Belapur station.

· 40 new indicators on platforms, booking offices, subways have been installed at Kharkopar and Bamandongri stations.

· 8 new train indicators on platforms, booking offices have been installed at Khandeshwar station.

· 1 additional platform indicator has been installed at Dombivali station &

· 2 Platform indicators for DEMU & MEMU have been installed at Upper Kopar station.

All-in One Video Display(AVD) Indicators:

· New AVD indicators have been installed at Ulhasnagar, Neral & Vangani stations.

· 2 AVD indicators have been installed at CSMT Platform 15/16.

Coach Guidance Indicators:

· 26 new Coach guidance indicators ( 13 on each platform) have been installed at CSMT as part of the Platform 12/13 extension work.

Arrival/Departure Indicators:

· Two new 5 line Mail/exp arrival / departure indicators have been installed 1 each at CSMT Platform 14/15 entry and at PRS hall of Dadar station.

· 2 new line Mail/exp arrival / departure indicators have been installed at Panvel booking office entrance.

Public Announcement System:

· All old PA system speakers at Ulhasnagar replaced with new ones.

· Old PA system at Vidyavihar & Titwala replaced with new ones.

FACILITIES TO DIVYANGJAN:

· A total of 170 new buzzers have been installed at various stations on Main & Harbour line for the benefit of Divyangjan passengers.

· These buzzers are extremely helpful to Divyagjan passengers especially the visually challenged to locate the place earmarked for Divyagjan.

PASSENGER TICKETING:

· 228 new ATVMs (Automatic Ticket Vending Machines) have been installed at 75 stations on Mumbai Division.

ATVMs provide fast ticketing solutions enabling passengers to be free of long queues at ticket windows.
